BRIEF
To celebrate XL Recordings 25th birthday, I illustrated artist M.I.A performing live at the Grammy Awards in 2009 whilst 8 months pregnant; a defining moment in the record label’s timeline.
After watching the performance I took note of the high energy, sense of confidence eminated from M.I.A and the other artists, as well as how the audience reacted to the raw attitude of the song. I therefore wanted the A1 poster to be visually dynamic, contemporary and full of life, portraying the artist as a Goddess being adored by the crowd and using colour to create movement and pattern.
